2022 Hyundai Kona N Line
Hyundai has made many changes inside and out on the 2022 Kona, most notably, the new Kona N-Line which represents the brands performance sub-brand, Hyundai N Performance division. The Kona N Line is the third vehicle in Hyundai’s lineup that has gotten the N Line treatment, joining the Elantra N Line and the Sonata N Line that were released for the 2021 model year. Following the Kona N Line is the new 2022 Tucson N Line which will also feature a more dynamic interior and exterior appearance.
So what makes the 2022 Hyundai Kona N Line different from the rest of the 2022 Kona lineup?
The exterior features many trim exclusives that give the compact SUV a more aggressive appearance. The N Line includes standard 18” aluminum wheels which are the largest wheels offered in the 2022 Kona lineup. Body coloured body cladding also comes standard compared to the black plastic trim that can be found on other 2022 models. The front and rear bumper as well as the grille molding have an N Line exclusive design that has a performance inspiring appearance. You will also find air intakes above the grille and dual exhaust at the rear.
The interior has similar features as the other Kona models however there are many N Line design elements that stand out. N badging can be found on the backrests of the front seats, on the gear shifter, and on the steering wheel. Red stitching runs throughout the interior on the seating, steering wheel, and gear shifter. The vents also include red accents. To complete the interior, the N Line includes aluminum brake and gas pedals.
The Kona N Line features the largest engine in the 2022 Kona range which is a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4 generating 195 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque that’s paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The base Kona engine is the 2.0-liter inline-4 generating 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. The N Line comes standard with AWD while the other trims have an AWD option.
There are two N Line packages to choose from that offer some different features found mostly on the interior. The N Line will include all of the features mentioned above whereas the N Line with Ultimate Package includes everything above as well as some extra technology and convenience features that are only available on this trim. Some of the exclusive features on this trim level include LED headlights and tail lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, 8-way power adjustable drivers seat with 2-way lumbar support, parking distance warning, highway driving assist, head-up display, wireless charging, and a 10.25” touch screen infotainment system with a Harmon Kardon sound system.
