The Palisade may be the new kid on the block when it comes to Hyundai’s SUV lineup but that doesn’t mean that Hyundai is resting on its laurels when it comes to this capable SUV. Hyundai has recently revealed the Palisade Calligraphy edition; a new vision for the Palisade that takes this capable SUV in a very luxurious direction.

What’s new outside?

One thing that will probably draw your gaze is the Grille, having been redesigned with an all-new triangular pattern that really stands out especially when placed next to its forerunner. Exclusive to the calligraphy edition is a set of custom 20” wheels with an awesome geometric design that really pops particularly while in motion. Additional design touches include:

  • Custom designed exterior lighting
  • Redesigned front bumper
  • Additional exterior colour options over standard Palisade models

While Hyundai has so far been pretty tight-lipped on the new colour options they will likely differ from the options available on the standard Palisade editions.

What’s new inside?

While the exterior changes may be the most immediately noticeable the interior touches are without a doubt the part that Hyundai has made the most additions to. Luxurious is a term that gets thrown around quite a bit in the auto industry however, in reference to the Palisade’s interior it is very apt. The seats are now clad in luxurious quilted Napa leather which extends to the door paneling giving the interior the feel of a luxury vehicle. Adding to this feeling is the addition of a pair of captain’s chairs replacing the second-row bench seating reducing the passenger count from 8 to 7. This change ups the luxury level by including a new “winged” headrest complete with speakers for an intense listening experience. The infotainment display has also received an upgrade in the form of a 12.3” all-digital display available on higher trim levels. Finally, they’ve added a Nappa Leather-clad steering wheel for the ultimate luxury cruising experience.

There’s no set release date for the new Palisade Calligraphy Edition in Canada right now however, given that most Hyundai’s that release in the states tend to make their way to us it’s really just a matter of time at this point. Stay tuned for more updates on this and other exciting new Hyundai news in the future.
